FAQs

How much does a concrete driveway cost?

1

The cost of a concrete driveway depends on the size, site access, preparation required, concrete finish, thickness and reinforcement. Plain concrete is generally the most affordable option, while exposed aggregate, coloured and honed finishes cost more. Falconcrete WA provides free, itemised quotes so you know exactly what your driveway will cost before work begins.

How thick should a driveway be?

2

Most residential concrete driveways are typically 100mm thick with suitable reinforcement and a properly compacted base. Areas carrying heavier vehicles, such as trucks, caravans or commercial traffic, may require 125–150mm or more depending on the load and site conditions. Falconcrete WA can assess the area and recommend the correct thickness to suit the project, engineering requirements and expected traffic.

How long before I can drive on it?

3

We generally recommend waiting at least 7 days before driving a normal passenger vehicle on a new concrete driveway. Concrete continues gaining strength for around 28 days, so heavier vehicles such as trucks, caravans or machinery may need to stay off it longer.

Falconcrete WA will let you know the recommended curing time for your specific driveway before the job is completed.

Do you remove old driveways?

4

Yes. Falconcrete WA can remove and replace existing concrete driveways, including breaking up the old concrete, excavation and site preparation before the new driveway is installed. We can organise the complete process so the area is properly prepared and ready for a strong, long-lasting new concrete finish.

Yes. Falconcrete WA installs reinforcement including steel mesh, rebar and trench mesh where required. We make sure reinforcement is correctly positioned and supported to help improve the strength, durability and crack resistance of your concrete, and we can install it to suit engineering plans and project specifications.
